Our Learning

Class programmes

Our innovative and interesting programmes of learning are designed to encourage creativity and problem solving. It is important that students have opportunities to experience a wide range of learning opportunities and taking on  increasing amount of choice and control within these programmes.

Te reo Maori and Kapa Haka

We aim to infuse all our school programmes with te ao Maori;

Our school is a regular participant in the Reporoa Cluster Kapa Haka Festival.

Support for all learners

As we have small class sizes we are able to tailor our programmes to suit all our learners. We are working to individualise learning. We have fantastic connections to all our Ministry support agencies and are able to access advice and help if needed.

Sports

We aim to make the most of sporting opportunities as they arise - particularly those events on the Sport BOP schools calendar. We send teams whenever possible to CBOP Swimming, Rotorua Marathon, Rippa Rugby, Amazing race...we are also part of a Tri Schools network -participating in an Inter-school Cross country, a Winter Sports field day and hosting the Annual Tri Schools Athletics.  We have a well planned PE lessons with support from the Sport BOP Go for It programme.

Education outside the classroom

We plan each term to incorporate visits and experiences outside our classroom walls. We regularly work with the Rotorua Museum Education team, exploring local history, art, robotics and other specialist topics.
